The Ram truck leaves Dodge and strikes out on its own. Having long been just known as the Ram truck, Dodge officially let the truck go out on its own in 2010. This is the last generation where a manual transmission was offered on the 2500 truck, being discontinued as an option in 2019. This generation saw various innovations such as the “Rambox”, a redesigned four door cab option. The towing capacity ranged from 8,500 pounds on the low end earlier in the generation, to 12,830 on the high end, later in the generation and when properly equipped. This generation had myriad engines available.
